Me and a friend once hiked up to this so remote signal box just after it had snowed. We built an 8' snowman, covered it in solar powered LED lights with a battery backup. It made the local newspapers and TV. They never did find out whodunnit.
Amazing 😊
Stunningly style, thank you!
Many thanks Sorin, much appreciated.
That's a terrific pan of a unique and powerful combination David, especially in such adverse weather conditions.
Thanks D, 2 seasons in one shot :D
As ever, a great doubler-header shot from Linesider 👍🏻
Thanks LoKe, good to see an unusual pairing.
Lovely angle and a nice clear shot. The exhaust chaos is highly noticable with a three contra-beating with a four.
Thanks Phil, I thought that too - chaos is a good word for it!
Bit rare for the jubilee to work doubleheading with the hall loco
It's great, the combinations that galas can provide.
@@Linesider1yeah David
I saw it a Hellifield detaching from the northern belle and then I saw it leave
Missing Lizzie, do hope we see it again, Steve .
Me too Steve, perhaps more likely at present with the need for air braked locos.
Wow,wow wow
It must be one hell of a place to spend a 12 hour shift in the depths of Winter......
Indeed Brian, must be a spooky shift at night, especially if you were to hear footsteps coming up the box steps :-s
Great shot! I saw her at Taplow today.
Beautiful thrash from the 40 there, considering seeing the same one tomorow
Good catch Linesider1, might be only chance to see it up north for a while . 👍
Looks like this loco isn’t hanging around
That’s fair shifting!
Wished I had a leaver or semaphore of the old BPN box. 😢
Great video, you gotta love steam trains in action ua-cam.com/video/q7vogL3LL8Q/v-deo.html
Märklin-Weiche mit Pukos😉
Excellent shot David. Well worth going out for. Nice sound of the Black 5 .kind regards C&A
Many thanks C&A, it was lovely to be out in the sun and hear the black five making a great sound. I quite like light engine movements as they’re usually pure steam! Thanks again, David.
Excellent composition and filming David and well worth posting-brilliant in fact!
Thanks D, it caught me out so the signal stop helped.
This has got to be the the best ever footage of a steam train's progress through some lovely scenery. I've never seen better. The use of strong zoom lenses and great sounds make this remarkable. That low winter early morning fog in the moorland and the trail of train exhaust smoke, so well captured. Many film directors would kill to have footage like that under their belts. This is not just filming, it is a truly creative work of art.
Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to comment, and for such lovely words - I really appreciate your feedback and positivity. It was a superb morning to be out and made up for all those windy, grey and difficult days! Many thanks again and best wishes, David.
Going well there
It was indeed, good to see it on a sunny, warm day :)
Lovely to see the Blue Pullman still running. I remember them from the seventies.
Thanks Michael, those must be special memories you have of the original running.
@Linesider1 I loved the proper trains. Too often now they aren't even as good as buses, with seats as comfortable as sitting on an ironing board.
O my God.innocent engine using its full strength to pull bogies..
Nicely in sun to
Thanks Richard, the livery looks a real treat in that light.
Such a simple thing….and so good. Signals and a pull away with no “black smoke” or diesel exhaust good work on the maintenance crew. And you for being there 👍
Thanks Alan, it was a lovely May morning for it and the blue livery looks great in that light.
There goes the signal giving a clear road ahead for the midland Pullman hst to go through and proceed
Yeah Scott, and if aint broke, don't fix it :)
@@Linesider1indeed David
Great to capture the wave 👋🏻
More luck than judgment, but being there is half the battle :)
Going from the pan master to the zoom guru. A lovely day and just showing even a power move can be great.
Very many thanks Alan, I had such a lovely time up there on Saturday, the weather made all the difference to personal levels of comfort!
Terrific - well worth turning out for. Thanks David.
Many thanks Alan, it was a gorgeous morning to be up there and I've become quite fond of light engine moves over the years. Cheers, David.
Nice waving from the signal man from the box of blea moor after 44871 passes by with its support coach
Thanks Scott, lovely to see the signalman and steam surviving in 2024.
@@Linesider1yeah David
Gorgeous shot! Thank you for sharing!
Many thanks Steve, glad you enjoyed it and much appreciated.
That sound really brings back memories.
Thanks Allen, good to hear :)
A rare opportunity very well taken David and well worth the long treck.
Cheers D, a lovely morning for it, you don’t get many coat-free days at Blea Moor either 😅
Not something you see everyday David 👍
Absolutely Steve, lovely to see it. Amazing to think it worked north light engine in 1968 with 44781 prior to working the Fifteen Guinea special south, and here it still is. Thank God for her owner and the preservation movement as a whole.
HOW I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS SHORT VIDEO AND WHAT TO SOME DAYS TO TAKE A TRAIN VACATION ABOARD A TRAIN LIKE THE ONE I SEEIN THIS VIDEO THANK YOU FOR SHARING.................. ROBBIE PHILADELPHIA PA FISHTOWN
Many thanks Robbie, much appreciated and glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, David.
No effort from Tornado or the Duchess whatsoever. Marvellous
Nice one Steve great to have the crack with you lovely video's Steve nice one 👍 😊
Thanks but this video isn't by Steve, it's by Linesider (David). Glad you enjoyed it.
What an amazing display of power from the 8! Superb effort from the fireman and quality driving to. Be great when 48151 is back soon. JG.
Couldn't agree more!
Brilliant
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Spot on David, one of my favourites a cracking loco and the perfect slogger and a joy to ride behind hopefully will be back sooner rather than later, cheers nige👍
Many thanks Nige, it did so many trips on the coast that it became a little underappreciated perhaps. Slogger is a great word for it.
Hey can I use some footage and I will give credit
Great video of the 48151 such a consistent performer over the years 👍
Many thanks Simon, glad you enjoyed it. Absolutely - a stalwart of the mainline scene for 30 years and hopefully to return.
What a great performer she is and much missed by me. Great to see her in fine form here. Take care - Chris
And me Chris, a great engine and usually great for sound recording purposes :) Cheers, David.
Halycon days for sure David, I do miss the 8F as you were always assured of a great performance from her
Yes definitely a no-nonsense machine Austin. It's a shame that so many have pooh-poohed it over the years on account of it 'not looking right on a passenger train'. Perhaps those same folk now wish that it was running.
This loco is now under overhaul
Thanks Scott, hopefully we'll see it again soon.
@@Linesider1yes David once they finished the overhaul
Great video and audio, thanks for sharing Richard
Many thanks Richard, good to hear and much appreciated. I was pleased with how the video scrubbed up processing it with more modern software. Cheers, David.
Great video David. Kind regards, Jake.
Many thanks Jake, much appreciated and glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for posting this David, it's a great reminder of the sure-footed 8f in action and happy days on the Cumbrian Coast. I hope my last trip behind her from Preston to Shrewsbury and back wasn't the last we'll see of her in action.
Many thanks D, a great day out including the trip on Ratty. Hopefully she'll return soon but who knows.
